Please note: For those of you who attended Professor Hooley’s last lecture series, he has asked that you bring along your notes on Hensel’s Lemma to this series.

Exponential sums and congruences
This is a partial sequel to the October 2013 Lecture Series, but requires very little knowledge of that series. This series will focus on Dwork’s work on the rationality of zeta functions.

Dates: January 14,15,16,21,22,23, last lecture Wednesday 29th of January
Timings: Lunch at 12.30pm (please inform the Heilbronn-Coordinator if you have any specific dietary requirements, vegetarians will be catered for)
Lectures: 1-2pm. Tea, coffee and biscuits available from 2pm.

The lectures will take place in the 4th floor seminar room, lunches and tea and coffee will be served in the kitchen on the 4th floor.
