The Heilbronn Institute is pleased to be supporting the PROMYS Europe Summer School, currently running in Oxford. This is a school for highly talented pre-university students specialising in mathematics. Participants come from across Europe. They spend six intensive weeks solving problems and engaging in research projects. The goal is to provide young mathematicians with the deep experience of mathematical discovery. The picture shows the students discussing questions with Heilbronn Fellow Dr Ben Barber, following his terrific talk about Ramsey Theory and ultrafilters. PROMYS Europe is led by Professor Glenn Stevens and is organised by the Clay Mathematics Institute together with Wadham College and the Mathematical Institute at Oxford.
