Congratulations to previous Heilbronn Fellow Dr Daniel Lawson, on his paper Population genomics of the Viking world published in Nature on 16^th September. 

This six-year research project debunks the modern image of Vikings as a genetically pure group with blonde hair. As reported in the UOB press release, Lawson “played a pivotal role in [this] international research”.

Daniel is now Senior Lecturer in the Bristol School of Mathematics. You can hear him in interview with Claire Cavanagh on BBC Radio Bristol.
