Welcome to Francesco Mezzadri
01 Apr 2021, by News inCongratulations to Francesco Mezzadri who will be taking over from Tim Burness as Associate Chair of the Heilbronn Institute in August 2021. The Associate Chair manages the School’s Heilbronn budget and leads/commissions our Bristol programme of HIMR-partnered events; they also play a key role in HIMR’s national portfolio of activity, including recruitment of Heilbronn Fellows. Francesco has been the Director for the Mathematical Physics Institute in the School of Mathematics, University of Bristol since August 2018. His main area of research is in Random Matrix Theory (RMT), which over the past decade has become one of the most active and fast developing field in mathematics. He won the prestigious Fröhlich Prize in 2018 for his profound and wide-ranging contributions to random matrix theory and its applications.
