A new research project at the interface of applied mathematics and theoretical physics, focused on solution landscapes for cholesteric liquid crystals, and in particular, on the relatively unexplored solution landscapes of cholesterics in confined geometries.
Scientific Outcomes: The team have now co-authored a scientific manuscript titled ”Uniaxial versus Biaxial Pathways in One-Dimensional Cholesteric Liquid Crystals” by Yucen Han, James Dalby, Benjamin Carter, Apala Majumdar and Thomas Machon. The paper is posted on the arXiv, and has been accepted on 27 June as a letter in Physical Review Research.
