Congratulations to Siani Smith, Heilbronn Research Fellow in Bristol who has accepted a Lectureship in Computer Science at the University of Loughborough starting this autumn.
Following her PhD from Durham University under the supervision of Barnaby Martin and Daniël Paulusma, Siani joined the Heilbronn Institute in Bristol in 2022. Her research is in algorithmic graph theory and computational complexity. Siani studies computationally intractable graph problems under input restrictions to determine settings in which they either remain intractable or become efficiently solvable. Her latest paper ‘Induced Disjoint Paths and Connected Subgraphs for H-Free Graphs‘, with Barnaby Martin, Daniël Paulusma, and Erik Jan van Leeuwen has been published in Algorithmica 85(9): 2580-2604 (2023).
We wish Siani every success in her new position and future research!
