Congratulations to Megan Griffin-Pickering
14 Jan 2025, by News inCongratulations to Megan Griffin-Pickering, Heilbronn Research Fellow at UCL, who has accepted a postdoctoral fellowship position at the University of Zürich starting next month.
Following her PhD from Cambridge University under the supervision of Mikaela Iacobelli and Clément Mouhot, Megan held the Willmore Fellowship in Partial Differential Equations at Durham University from 2019-2022. She then joined the Heilbronn Institute at UCL in 2022.
Megan’s research focuses on the analysis of partial differential equations describing systems of many ‘small’ interacting components. This could be a physical many-particle system such as a gas, plasma, or even galaxy, or it could be a system of many agents who can choose their dynamics, as appears in social science models. Her work is concerned with questions such as the existence and uniqueness of solutions for these PDEs, the fundamental problem of deriving the equation rigorously from the microscopic system it is supposed to describe, and connections with other models through physically relevant scaling limits.
We wish Megan every success in her new position and future research!
