The winners of the Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals for mathematics in The Parliamentary & Scientific Committee’s STEM for Britain awards were announced on Tuesday 11 March 2025 at a prize-giving ceremony in the Houses of Parliament, Westminster.

STEM For Britain 2025 Winners
The three winners were picked from 20 selected finalists from a field of more than 100 application within the mathematics category. The three winners are:
Gold: Edwina Yeo (UCL) – Preventing bacterial surface contamination and infection via mathematical modelling. View Poster
Silver: Rosie Barrows (Imperial College/KCL) – Quantifying the impact of anti-arrhythmic therapy in atrial fibrillation patients using computational whole-heart models. View Poster
Bronze: Holly Chambers (Imperial College) – Benchmarking a causal discovery method for partially observed biochemical kinetics. View Poster

The overall aim of the STEM for Britain competition is to encourage, support and promote Britain’s early career researchers. This annual competition is an important date in the parliamentary calendar because it gives MPs an opportunity to see the work of a wide range of the country’s best young researchers
