Academic Partnerships

The Heilbronn Institute for Mathematical Research (HIMR) is a partnership between UK government and the UK mathematics research community with premises in Bristol, London, and Manchester. The Institute employs Heilbronn Fellows in several partner universities, and we currently have Fellows based in Bristol, Cambridge, Imperial, KCL, Manchester, and UCL.

The Institute is working to secure the supply chain of mathematicians across the UK by supporting PhD students. Within the Heilbronn Doctoral Partnership, in the last 5 years we have funded over 100 PhD students across 16 Universities in the UK.

Through strategic partnerships we foster a diverse, collaborative and supportive environment to nurture the UK maths ecosystem and deliver high quality, impactful mathematical research that makes a difference to national security.
