Heilbronn Research Fellowships

The Heilbronn Institute for Mathematical Research invites applications for Heilbronn Research Fellowships on annual basis, typically in the autumn, with an aim to interview early in the new year, with start dates in October. Fellows divide their time equally between their own research and the internal research programme of the Heilbronn Institute, which offers opportunities to engage in collaborative work as well as individual projects. Our regular Heilbronn Research Fellowships are available at any one of our partner institutions: Imperial College London, King’s College London, University of Bristol, University College London, University of Manchester, and our Data Science and Quantum Computing Fellowships are held in Bristol.

Fellowships can be held in areas of mathematics including but not restricted to Algebra, Algebraic Geometry, Combinatorics, Computational Statistics, Data Science, Number Theory, Probability, and Quantum Information. These areas are interpreted broadly: Research Fellows have previously been appointed with backgrounds in most areas of Pure Mathematics and Statistics, and several areas of Mathematical/Theoretical Physics.

Additional positions are being funded through the UKRI/EPSRC `Additional Funding Programme for Mathematical Sciences’.
