We are delighted to announce that Veronica Kelsey, Senior Heilbronn Fellow, has been appointed as the new Principal Heilbronn Fellow in Mathematics at The University of Manchester, effective this autumn.
Veronica joined the Heilbronn Institute in Manchester in 2021, following her PhD at the University of St Andrews under the supervision of Colva Roney-Dougal and Martyn Quick. Her research focuses on numerical invariants and the generation of simple and almost simple groups.
In her new role as Principal Heilbronn Fellow, Veronica will have a strategic remit to shape and coordinate research activity across the Heilbronn Institute for Mathematical Research (HIMR). She will work closely with the HIMR Chair, Head of HIMR, and Research Leads, supporting collaboration across internal programmes and partner institutions.
Veronica brings substantial research experience and proven leadership capability to this position, alongside a strong track record of collaboration and academic contribution. Her appointment strengthens the leadership of the Heilbronn research community at Manchester and enhances the broader Heilbronn partnership.
Please join us in congratulating Veronica on her appointment. We look forward to her continued contributions and the expanded leadership she will bring to the Institute and The University of Manchester in this new role.
