Congratulations to Steven Robertson who has been offered a Heilbronn Fellowship at Manchester starting this autumn.
Steven is currently a 4th year PhD student in Manchester funded by the Heilbronn Institute and supervised by Faustin Adiceam (Manchester). His current research interests involve Diophantine approximation, combinatorics, automatic sequences, discrepancy theory and ergodic theory. In particular, his work has focussed on the Littlewood Conjecture in fields of positive characteristic and its intersections with finite automata and the determinants of Hankel matrices. Steven continues to present his work at national and international events, and has been an invited speaker at various seminars and conferences across the UK.
Steven’s recent paper ‘Counterexamples to the P(t)-adic Littlewood Conjecture over Fields of Small Characteristic‘ has been accepted for publication in Mathematics of Computation.
We would like to welcome Steven to the Heilbronn Institute, and we wish him every success in his new position and future research!
